I longed for her in lonely nights
I chased her in my days
They told me
She was worthy not
Of all that pain
They told me she will cheat me
They told me she was fake
They told me that too many
Were burned out
Like that
Prompted by desire
Fueled by false hope
I chased that idea
That once seemed so hot

“Strange chalices of vision, but the images are more especially those of the fantastic spirit. Divinatory Meanings: Fairy favours, images of reflection, sentiment, imagination, things seen in the glass of contemplation; some attainment in these degrees, but nothing permanent or substantial is suggested.”
A.E. Waite, The Pictorial Key to the Tarot, illustration by Pamela Colman Smith
Interesting that I can interpret this in regard to some of my recent female friendships that ended. How they were not meant to be and they burnt out. For the future, I will be aware of the red flags and what I don’t want in a friendship. I’ve been so happy for months since these ladies were no longer in my life.
Thank you for taking the time to comment, seakist! Ugh, these are tough experiences, i’ve been through many myself… i mourned way more friendships that turned sour, than romances…
Yes, good point! Me too 🙂
Yes, good point! Me too. All these books people write on finding love/romance — that’s the easy part. Finding friends could be a lifetime JOB!
I agree, seakist! I bet you that both of us have invested more time and efforts into our respective friendships – than into romances! Oh, well… we can only hope it’s all for the best, somewhere at the end of things…
There is so much more to this.., beautiful!
Thank you, dear Judy! I am honored by your words ❤
